Dan Barton

Dan Barton began performing stand-up comedy while a student at the University of Texas and a humor columnist for The Daily Texan. He then moved to Houston and began appearing at the Comedy Workshop’s Comix Annex with Bill Hicks and Sam Kinison. After moving to Los Angeles, he pursued a career in the entertainment industry as a writer and performer.

He transitioned to a career as a writer and producer in cable television. He worked as a writer and producer at E! Entertainment television for ten years, serving as supervising producer of the enormously successful “Wild On” television series starring supermodel turned host Brooke Burke. His other credits at E! include such shows as E! News Daily, Uncut, Celebrity Profile and Wild On.

He is a veteran of five seasons as the head writer for the Oscar, Grammy, Golden Globe and Emmy Red Carpet Countdown shows broadcast on the TV Guide Network. He simultaneously produced TVGN’s popular weekly series, “What’s On DVD.”

His career as a novelist began with the publication of the paperback originals BANSHEE and RELIFE. He then created the fictional character of comedian turned amateur sleuth Biff Kincaid and began to write a series of mysteries based around his experiences in stand up comedy.
