Sophia's earliest remembered moment was awakening in her family's garden. She laid with the flowers as the first raindrops of Spring were carried by the wind, and she rose with eyes open just in time to see the lightning flash from storm clouds rolling over the foothills. She was carried indoors, but wanted to stay out. She did not feel fear, only captivation.

That moment kindled a lifelong passion for the arts. She was educated and trained for practical things, but her gaze remained turned toward that lightning flash, finding beauty in danger and wanting to lay again upon those flowers, in the garden, with the storm passing overhead.

Her stories have roots in the many beds she shared, but it was her most devoted lover that inspired her to put pen to paper.
