Arhanyin had thought that love was only part of his past, lost long ago when his wife died. To have the gift of finding his long lost son, Tarsus, seemed the epitome of all he could wish for.

Then Uriel blew in to his life like a hurricane, with much the same result. He was thrown off course by the southern centaur's bold seduction and lack of respect for his title.

Uriel was a thrill seeker, an adventurous soul that sought all things pleasurable. The lure of a king who had locked himself away from any lover, was a temptation he could not resist.

It was a challenge, a game, no more than that, until suddenly it became much more and Uriel found himself needing, wanting, much more.

Watching the love between his brother, Varan, and Varan's mate, Tarsus, he discovers he wants something of similar intensity between him and the lonely king.

Arhanyin has known nothing but a life of duty and responsibility, aging him before his time. He cannot imagine why this young centaur, so handsome and vital, would find him in the least attractive. But Uriel does something to him, takes him back to where he was young and thought all things were possible...
