As I fell asleep after another busy day, I realized that I felt unexpectedly...balanced? The running thoughts that often plagued me before sleeping were no longer there because I had already journaled everything out of my mind. My body felt relaxed and tension free. And those great ideas that are always popping into my head all the time, finally had a safe resting place until I could face them again tomorrow.

For a moment, I could only wonder at what was happening.

Why did I feel so chill all of a sudden?

But then I realized, it wasn't sudden at all. It was because of the gentle routines that I had built to keep myself grounded throughout the day. And they were actually working!

This book is for neurodivergent people who are craving to discover simple ways to feel grounded daily—like I was. If your sensitivities are leaving you waking up overwhelmed and going to bed overwhelmed, then I'm sure you'll appreciate reading my story and personal notes on the structures I've put into place to go from feeling at the mercy of neurodivergent traits to having the right tools to create a steady—but yet wildly flexible—routine for re-centering myself.

After reading this book, I hope you discover how to create your own routines in a way that respects what you enjoy and how you like to do things. To be honest, it may take some time and experimenting to bring together something that's right for you, but in this book I give plenty of suggestions on how to create different routines for different parts of your experience as a neurodivergent person. The goal is for you to leave with flexible routines that not only keep you grounded, but that are also enjoyable.
