Helena Berry arrives in Ohio with a heavy heart. She has come to Amish Country to clear out her deceased uncle’s property and sell off the land and farmhouse.

Helena is a high-powered accountant from Akron City and, quite frankly, being stuck out in the countryside is her worst nightmare.

The sooner she gets the sale underway — and she can return to her comfortable city life — the better.

To make matters worse, it’s cold, with a thunderstorm on the horizon. So when a young child, Caleb Lantz, turns up on her doorstep late one evening, cold, wet, and hungry, to say she is surprised is an understatement.

Helena takes pity on Caleb and ensures that he is fed and kept warm while his family is located.

Fortunately for Caleb and Helena, help is at hand and his father, Joseph, is soon knocking on the door enquiring about his son.

Although young, Caleb can instantly see the attraction between his father and Helena, encouraging them to give in to their feelings.
