Roberta Halpern, a former secondary school English teacher, has always loved to write. In 1999 she left the public schools to begin a creative freelance life. She has been a face painter; a practitioner of Hawaiian massage; a dance program presenter; an artists’ model; and an interfaith minister. Currently, she lives in Philadelphia where she writes and paints. She loves going to the movies and attending live music events. Her first memoir,Courage Reborn, is a handbook for early grief. Roberta believes that creative expression is essential for healing and for our humanity.
