Pen Stewart is a Belgian fantasy-SciFi writer and artist. She became the first genre-writer in as well Belgium as the Netherlands with a scholarship from the national fund for literature, thanks to her thrilling fantasy-novel 'Wintercode'. This story is a suspenseful mix of fantasy, SciFi and thriller-elements with enthralling characters set in a whole new and unique fantasy-universe. Pen also illustrated the book. Today she is one of the leading authors to promote genre fiction in Belgium and the Netherlands. She teaches new genre authors the do's and don'ts of writing good fantasy on an international level, and speaks in schools, libraries and cultural institutions.
As an artist she paints stories of eclectic, impressionistic baroque settings with multiple story lines. She also painted the covers of her books.
