Heartbroken and lost, she decides to spend the summer at her late father’s birthplace. Little does she know – this trip will change her life forever.

Francine is suffering with empty nest syndrome after her youngest takes a job on a cruise ship. She hopes to cross a few things off the bucket list she wrote with her husband, but her life is blown apart when he leaves her high and dry.

With the family home on the market, she decides to do something she has always dreamed of, to visit the birthplace of her father who died when she was in her early twenties.

Against the wishes of her mother, Francine heads to Lac Bleu, to research her family history and connect with relatives she has never met. There, she forges a friendship with a woman who runs a café and gives her a job. She meets Jacque who runs an adjacent boating business and dips her feet into the waters of a fresh romance.

But when a secret kept for decades knocks her for six, Francine questions her place in the world. Can she forgive the lies, she has been fed her entire life? Or will the past ruin her chance for a new beginning?
