Eleonora Jähnig was born on the east coast of South Africa, in the province of KwaZulu Natal. She lives in Cape Town with her husband and her daughter. Her first language is Italian, although she is as proficient in English, having schooled in South Africa. She qualified as a Chartered Global Management Accountant, a UK qualification, after having completed her degree and honours degree in commerce and finance at the University of South Africa.

After over 20 years as an accountant across various industries, Eleonora left her chosen career to raise her daughter. It was during this time that her Italian heritage came to the fore, and her creativity blossomed.

Eleonora never returned to the corporate world, choosing instead to open her own accommodation business, and explore her love for writing. She has visited over 30 countries. She draws on these worldly experiences, and her love for nature, conservation, and recycling to impart teachings through her storytelling.

To date, Eleonora has written six children’s books in ‘The Sea Series’ and is busy with a seventh, and working on her memoirs, focusing on life as an Italian growing up in a foreign country.
