"Some Doors Should Never Be Opened"
Benton Daley III is a college graduate in the 1960’s but bored with the idea of going into the family’s lucrative shoe business, he decides to take time off to pursue his real passions-gambling and games of chance.
It plays well for him, and he discovers the underground world of high stakes poker games, held in underground private clubs closed to the general public and off the radar of law enforcement. One night, as he goes head to head with another card shark who is short on cash, he accepts a golden antique artifact as the ante on a final hand, winner takes all.
He wins a golden key.
He plans to sell or pawn it, but for some reason it sparks his curiosity. He soon finds out its origin from an aging relative, and his curiosity leads him to the historic Mandarin Hotel, and a high stakes encounter that could cause him to forfeit his soul.
