When I was eight years old, my mother married a man and promised me that we'd never have to run again—the woodsman would protect us.
And he did. He just didn't protect me from his son.
After my mother died, I only had the Woodsmans, but it wasn't enough, not while Hendrix hated me so much. When I turned 18, I left our family home and never looked back. After all, that's what Hendrix wanted— because if I didn't, he promised to kill me himself.
