Steve Goldsmith has lived several lives: military brat and high‑school dropout, Air Force technician and Silicon Valley start‑up survivor, eighth-grade math teacher and art‑gallery owner. Today, he is the caretaker of a botanical garden, butterfly sanctuary, and animal rescue center in Costa Rica. Somewhere along the way, he began using fiction to reconcile these disparate worlds.
