David Scott Richardson
David Scott Richardson is a Seattle-born, award-winning author whose passion for history and storytelling brings the past to life for young readers. His novels blend historical fiction, coming-of-age themes, and social justice, making them perfect for fans of engaging, thought-provoking stories.
With over two decades of experience as an educator, Richardson knows how to connect with younger audiences through authentic characters, real historical events, and emotional storytelling.
His first novel, River’s Reach, explores friendship, activism, and the fight for Indigenous fishing rights in the Pacific Northwest during the 1960s. According to Kids’ BookBuzz, “If you enjoy stories with emotional depth and social relevance, this one is worth your time.”
Richardson’s latest novel, An Empty House Doesn’t Sneeze, is highly recommended by Kids’ BookBuzz for readers, “aged twelve and up who are interested in historical fiction, particularly those curious about the personal and emotional effects of war on young people.”
When he’s not writing, Richardson enjoys exploring the outdoors, researching historical events, and reflecting on the power of storytelling.
He’s presently working on a new novel. Follow the author at www.DavidScottRichardson.com.
