Em McDermott has been writing stories since middle school. She got a bachelor’s degree from UCONN in Classics and English because she thinks mythology and fairy tales are the world’s first fantasies. When she’s not writing, she can be found with her television, devouring the costumes on her favorite heroines before rushing to her sewing machine to try to recreate them for herself. She lives on a small homestead in upstate New York with her husband and thirteen chickens with names like Khaleesi, Buffy, and Octavia.
