Drs. Eugene B. Holiday was born in Sint Maarten in 1962, where he grew up and completed the first half of his secondary education at the Milton Peters College.

He enjoys playing sports and is an avid NBA fan. He also enjoys doing research and has documented his thoughts in poems, research papers, speeches and books.

He is an economics graduate of the Catholic University of Brabant in Tilburg, The Netherlands. He has an extensive career in the public, semi-public, and private sectors. He was appointed as Governor of Sint Maarten and assumed office on October 10, 2010. He was reappointed and began serving his second term as Governor on October 10, 2016.
