It had been several years since the incident at the camp of the Lewis and Clark expedition. Most of the men had completely forgotten about the incident and went on with their lives. John Colter and John Potts did not really forget about the incident, but they had placed it at the back of their minds. Like the other men, Potts and Colter figured that the incident happened so many years ago, and it was time to move on. The men from the expedition had gone their separate paths and lived their own lives now, and Colter and Potts were no exception. While the other men had pursued different jobs afterwards, Potts and Colter became mountain men or trappers.
