Steve Jenner has been a professional broadcaster in commercial radio since 1996. He’s been a live DJ, compere and compulsive music fan and supporter of live music since he was three.

He’s been taking money off of people for playing music to them since 1973 and really became hooked on live music from his time at University in Dundee, Eastern Scotland, where he was resident DJ for three years and a member of the entertainments committee in the late 1970’s, responsible for booking bands and acting as compere / support DJ for bands and singers as diverse as Tom Robinson, Billy Idol, Mungo Jerry, Frankie Miller, Paul Young and many more. He claims to be a compulsive buyer of vinyl records and says his most treasured possession is a 1958 Seeburg jukebox.

Since then, in his professional capacity as a broadcaster and simply as a fan, but also as a contributor to a leading London – based music review website, he has travelled the country writing about some of the biggest and most enduring names in music.

As former national and international press officer and media commentator for leading language pressure group Plain English Campaign, he has made numerous TV appearances including five visits to the famous ‘red sofa’ for BBC Breakfast. He’s also appeared on Sky, ITV, CNN, and international TV stations in Russia, Korea, Germany and Canada as well as the BBC News Channel.

A versatile and well -travelled broadcaster, he’s been a guest on the majority of BBC local radio stations around the UK, also appearing on national stations such as BBC Radio 4 and 5 Live and around the world as a guest of the BBC World Service. He’s also appeared on many of the leading commercial radio networks including TalkRadio.
