B. B. James has always had a flair for the arts. She loves writing, reading, painting, interior design, baking and performing. She was born in Birmingham in the English West Midlands.
Her parents encouraged her into nursing as a teenager and she forged a successful career in medicine before taking up writing.
She now lives with her husband in Brixham, a fishing port on the beautiful Devon coast, where she is also well known as a singer at local charity shows.
She has three sons, a granddaughter and three cats.
