You ever have somebody in your life that you think you know, but then you find out you don't? Not really?

They're not at all like you thought. You finally meet the real them and discover they're completely different than you thought?

Because I have recently.

You know what I mean. They're the kind of person you've known for years. You work with them, or go to school with them, maybe they live in your neighborhood.

You never really talked to them much except in passing. You might have had conversations, but it never about anything important, it was always just sort of superficial?

Then something happens, something changes, and you find yourself getting to know them a whole lot better, finding out more about them than ever before.

It's like your eyes are opened and you see them, really see them, and you discover that they're nothing like you thought.

I've always considered myself an open book, but maybe I'm not so much of a book as I am a decently written magazine. A glossy one. One with a mix of beefcake, literature, and science. Nah, I'm not that cheap or disposable. Maybe the book analogy was bad. But you know what I'm trying to say, right?

I'm not sure if anyone has had that experience with me, you know, finding out I'm not exactly as I seem.

I try to be the kind of person that is exactly who they seem to be. But I don't tell people everything. Who does?

I used to think I had no secrets. But that's not true anymore, if it ever was. I have a few secrets, I guess. But everyone does, don't they?

So. James. Straight. Sexy. Conservative James.

Or so I thought.

Then he revealed his true self to me and he was nothing like I expected. Well, that's not quite right. He was who he always was, but there was more beneath the surface. He'd revealed more of himself to me. The layers. The secrets.

Me and some of our wrestling buddies are hanging out at his place, enjoying the hot tub, the pool, and each other.

I'm also enjoying his step-father, though no one knows about that.

It's been interesting so far, and the weekend is just getting started.
