Mari Bekauri (born 1990) graduated from Tbilisi State University with a master's degree in Social and Cultural Psychology in 2014. She entered the literary scene with the short story Sisters in 2008 and subsequently her stories were selected for the best short story anthologies six times. She has won several literary awards and has written three novels. Since 2015, Mari has written screenplays for the Georgian Public Broadcaster and GDS TV. The movies she worked on were selected by Eurimages, the Georgian National Film Centre, the Batumi International Film Festival, and the Vilnius International Film Festival. She is the co-writer of the short movie 8 Minutes which got the main award at the prestigious Manhattan Short Film Festival.
