Cheryl started writing in 2015 after the birth of her second son. Feeling betrayed and angry that God hadn’t kept His promise to her in Psalm 37:4, she started a dialogue with God for the first time.

Along with prayer and Bible reading, she wrote a short novel to see how her characters would persevere in unfair situations. One novel became three, and her heart and mind opened to the love and sovereignty of God, who doesn’t give His children the desires of their heart, but gives them the desires of His heart, which is eternal, pure and glorious!

In 2019, she was named a finalist for the ACFW-Virginia Crown award and a flash fiction winner in the Spark Flash Fiction spring/summer 2020 writing contest. Currently she is the author of two novellas, Stay with Me, and Return to Me, and has a four-novel Christian Romance series in the works!

When she isn’t writing and rewriting, you’ll find her in a hospital working as a lab tech or enjoying the adventure of homeschooling two sons, ages eight and five, with her husband of fourteen years in Chicago, Illinois.
