Other Creatures that Bite is a collection of short stories that brings you face to face with the world of vampires, ghosts, and even mermaids. Some written for work, others for pleasure, these short works give you an insight of just what a day in the life of these monsters look like.

"How She Will Find Us" is a short story about a mother and son, a hotel room, and control issues. Maureen and Mulger must either choose to trust in each other or go their separate ways, forever. A cardinal bird sings from his post on top of the fence and someone is screaming.

Our next story is a bit more fleshy as the vampire Finnian is born into the world in "Hunter in the Sky". In "Nothing I Did Was True" we take a break from the neck biters and see into the world of a fluffier fang-haver. Darien and her coworker Nico are shutting down the old neighborhood movie theater for the night. When someone starts something only the other can finish, they are in for a talking-to.

We go underwater for "Figurehead" and into the kingdom of Akwatan, a populated and beautiful kingdom ruled by the mermaid's fair leader, Realgar. We follow his daughter, Iolite, through her life and hear the story of this magical and mysterious land of nymphs and sea creatures that are too intricate to imagine. A love story that reaches each end of the sea.

Our next story takes place in a house, but not just any home. "This House Chews" is a story about a young woman who has come into possession of a huge house from her grandma and something about it is off. Slade must find out what it is, before it's too late.

In "An Entirely New Gospel" Father Francis begins a life of following Christ and taking care of his congregation. He gives up his girlfriend, drinking, and the emptiness he had felt his whole life for this, it has got to give him some kind of joy, right? What he doesn't know is that one secret drink just might take everything he has away from him, but it might give him something too.
