Thĕ (Study of) Trees is an experiment in form and rhythm. We often forget that meter is simply an abstract pattern used to control rhythm for a line, and indeed the entire poem.

What is presented in these pages is very different, not only in its application but from the poet himself. Having spent the majority of his poetry writing in the formal or structured area, he has moved this collection into a very different area while still demonstrating the beauty of classic metrical feet. Importance is placed on how they can be used and the different interpretations achieved by altering these feet. Presentation and spelling have been used as other tools in various poems, along with commentary. The study consists of eighteen poems in the first part, with an analysis of each in the second.

Thĕ (Study of) Trees was inspired by trees on the poet's property, by observing and wondering about their thoughts and emotions. Now, they share their experiences in poetic form.
