Kate Rauner

Kate Rauner loved science and science-fiction since she was a kid, so naturally she writes sci-fi novels and science-inspired poetry.
She’s an engineer by education, experience, and temperament; an ex-Cold War Warrior (honestly, as designated by the US Congress because she worked in America’s nuclear weapons complex;) environmental engineer in the copper mines of Grant County, New Mexico; and recently retired rural volunteer firefighter.
Today, Kate lives outside Silver City, New Mexico, on the edge of the southwest’s Gila National Forest with her husband and cat, pursuing her life’s goal of becoming an eccentric old woman.
