The last thing Sam expects on a rainy day is to meet her long-lost love. She meets Ray, who she hasn't seen in five years and who she's never admitted her feelings to. At the same moment, a stranger runs into her and drops his phone but doesn't stop to retrieve it. Sam picks it up and forgets about it. All her thoughts are on Ray.

They spend the night together, reminiscing about their past and finally admitting their feelings to each other.

The next morning, Sam remembers about the stranger's phone and checks it out in an attempt to return it, but what she discovers shakes her to the core. There's nothing in that phone besides text messages describing Sam's every step, including her outfits, her grocery shopping, and her mood.

Sam shares this information with Ray, and he promises to help. Only Sam doesn't know that it's the begining of her nighmare.
