Annie J Ryan grew up in the suburbs of Perth. As a university student, she was entrusted with the administration of resources for lecturers where she discovered that she was spectacularly unsuccessful at bookkeeping. She was pleased to find a career that required different skills. For a large number of years, she taught children and adults and had quite a lot of fun. At the same time, she helped manage businesses concerned with boats and the marine side of things. She writes contemporary women's fiction and has published two novels.  A Summer of Second Chances (previously published as Ripple) is her first novel, and her latest release is The Arrival. Her writing is influenced by her passion for women's lives, their secrets, and their families. You can find her shaking out the sand from her shoes by the wild coast of her home.
