Each book of the series chooses a Class and explains its powers, purpose, aspirations and burdens, along with a parallel theme that affects the present days of the storyline.

The narative follows the protagonist named Amos Bol who is a Gamidgey. Through him, we learn of the present condition of Adamah and what purpose his Class has on Ruakh Sudar in a time called the Silent Era.
