David Allan Galloway was born in Gettysburg, PA. He became profoundly deaf in one ear when he protracted a childhood illness. He graduated from Penn State in 1979 and spent most of his career in various leadership positions within the paper industry.

​​​​​​​David's personal hearing loss, coupled with a tragic workplace incident where two employees were severely injured, inflamed his passion for safety. He resolved to make a difference by helping others understand the role of leadership in safety performance.

​​​​​​​In 2015, David started Continuous MILE Consulting to assist clients in improving their safety culture through effective leadership. He blogs about leadership at www.ContinuousMile.com.

​​​​​​​David is married to Leesa. They have two daughters and three grandsons.
