"Adam, wh…what are you doing?" Cassandra shivered, but not from the cold.

"Casssss…" The way he drew out her name sent a thrill through her chest.

Her heart pounded, and a mixture of confusion and excitement raced along her nerves.

Adam wrapped his arm around her waist, tugging her closer. To steady herself, she gripped his biceps, and his muscles tensed beneath his jacket.

His intense gaze roamed her face then paused at her lips.

Sensual energy zipped between them and burned like fire.

Her tongue slipped between her lips, moistening them, and she closed her eyes in anticipation of his kiss. Instead, he brushed his lips along her chin until he reached the tender spot at the base of her ear.

"I want to devour you." His husky words tickled her spine.

Could Adam's assertiveness be a result of the vial? Was it a love potion? The take no chances part of her wanted to push him away, but that was the safe, easy response. Fueled by an unknown source of fearlessness, Cassandra traced her hands over his denim coat and into his hair.
