Alfred’s body has finally had enough. To save his life, he has his brain digitized and uploaded to a new synthetic body. He is waiting in virtual reality for the process to be done and after weeks of waiting he makes an inquiry to his artificial intelligence case manager. Alfred discovers the case is closed and his body has already gone home. Someone has stolen his life.

Alfred is now stuck in VR without access to the outside world. He has to figure out how to reach the surface, discover who stole his body and why, and how to get his life back.

Alfred must navigate a digital and physical world not ready for him and his kind, and form alliances with AI and fellow digital beings who appear to want to help, or they’re waiting for him to turn his back so they can pull the plug.
