He was born in Australia in 1962. At the age of 8, he moved with his family to Karpathos, an island in the Aegean in Greece, the birthplace of his parents. He completed his Primary and High School education there.
​​​​​​​In 1981 he enrolled in the Pedagogical Academy of Heraklion, from which he graduated after two years. He then worked as a teacher. Since 1999, he has been living and working permanently in Serres, Northern Greece.
​​​​​​​As he himself states in his first collection of short stories: "Sometimes the mind is f illed with images, stories, thoughts, emotions... that want to escape. My outlet is writing!"
