About the author

Alan L. Nobler

Alan grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area, earned his undergraduate degree from San Jose State University, his law degree from Santa Clara University, and then practiced law in Silicon Valley for forty-eight years. Starting before the age of specialization, he practiced divorce, personal injury, and real estate litigation; formed corporations and partnerships; wrote wills and trusts. He became a California Certified Family Law Specialist in 1980. As part of his work with divorcing families, he handled child custody, domestic violence, and restraining order litigation. His background working in personal injury cases led him to pursue domestic violence torts as depicted in The Girl in the Halo. After closing his practice in 2017, Alan continues to teach and advocate for victims’ rights, including shaping potential California state legislation for future consideration and debate.
