Philippa was born and raised in Yorkshire, worked six ski seasons and then spent several years working for luxury tour operators in London before discovering India. She is a traveller, writer, adventurer, self-confessed Indophile, luxury travel specialist and consultant to the Indian travel trade. She has spent thirteen years living in and travelling extensively throughout India, writing about her experiences on the go; periodically for "Times of India" and "Travel Mint" and regularly on her blog www.memsahibinindia.com. With wildlife being one of her passions, she has also spent a considerable amount of time in the jungles of central India, which were the inspiration for this book.
