Pam dressed as if she were going clubbing, but more revealing. Matching undergarments, a short skirt, a low-cut blouse, and high heel shoes. She hoped she didn’t look too much like a prostitute. It would be embarrassing to have some drunk idiot solicit her.

Some of Will’s friends were picking him up, so she only had to worry about herself. She tried Candy again. Still no answer. Pam was really starting to worry. The last thing she wanted to do was have to approach another stripper at the last minute.

With a wave to Laura, she headed to the strip club. It was just as skeevy as she’d imagined. Dark inside except for the stages where bored women gyrated for money from horny patrons who couldn’t get a woman to take their clothes off for free.

She found the manager behind the bar. “I called about the bachelor party. Is Candy here?”

He shook his head. “I haven’t seen her. Try her spot in the dressing room. It has all the masks on the mirror.”

She found Candy’s spot, but no Candy. None of the women nearby had seen her. Pam took a few moments to examine the masks. They were pretty cool. Mostly half face masks that looked like they belonged at a fancy ball. One in particular, all white with gold highlights, captivated her.

Pam pulled it down and put it on. Her reflection in the mirror changed dramatically. The mask covered her face from forehead to cheeks. Only her mouth and jaw were bare. She didn’t even recognize herself. Amazing.

She put the mask back where she’d found it and headed for the club’s special events rooms in the back. She found the one with Will and his buddies without any problem. It looked like he was already a bit plastered and the beer was flowing. They were calling for the stripper.

She’d run out of time.

Pam returned to the dressing room, but none of the girls could help her. They all had regular shifts to work. She spun around searching for a solution, and her eyes lit on Candy’s mirror. And the mask.

No, that was crazy. She couldn’t take the other woman’s place. She couldn’t masquerade as a stripper for Will and his drunken cronies. It was wrong. On so many levels.
