<p>I was born in London but moved to Canberra, Australia, on completing a PhD about neural nets and visual information processing. After becoming involved in meditation, I left research to pursue tai chi, yoga, and meditation. Meditation led to writing poetry, then to plays and stories. My stories tend to be fantastical.</p>
<p>In 1987, I married Judith, a visual artist. In 1992, I started to do the picture framing for her work. That led to woodturning and making wooden automata.</p>
<p>Since 1997, Judith and I have lived on the Sunshine Coast, Queendsland where I combine writing with woodwork.   </p>
