About the author

Perry Rowe

Perry Rowe, a pseudonym for Rebecca Platt, wrote The Second Best Christmas, as encouragement for all young married couples.

Jack and Allie are a newly married couple trying to make their first Christmas together very special. Each takes on additional jobs to earn extra money. They meet Gus, the owner of Second Time Around, a thrift store. Gus has his own story. And then there is Evelyn, her first landlord whose actions put everything in motion in their lives.

How and why God brings them all together and how it changes their lives is miraculous. You will laugh and cry, but mostly you will be blessed.

It is an unusual Christmas story in that it contains a non-graphic assault scene that is central to the book. The reader will not find it offensive in any way, but because of this, I did designate it for those over eighteen.

She has written two other non-fiction Christian books under her real name, Rebecca Platt. Depression Has a Big Voice. Make Yours Bigger! addresses the struggles of those suffering from depression, particularly Christians. The book highlights how one can manage depression and even learn to live depression-free.

The book is a sixty-day devotional with additional resources and tips that are simple and easy to implement.

Depression and anxiety are manageable.

Her other book, Finding Your More, focuses on how Christians can find God's purpose for their lives. The author uses the word "More" rather than "purpose", as more is user-friendly. Besides, who doesn't want more?

Biblical personalities are used to show how to find one's more. This book also offers additional resources to help the reader implement ways to find their own "more".

Rebecca has a degree in Psychology and post-graduate classes in Clinical Pastoral Education. She is a former Hospital Chaplain, conference and retreat speaker, and Bible teacher. She has counseled many in her church as a lay counselor. She is currently working on her life coach degree.

She blogs at goodthoughtsgoodlives.com and can be found on Pinterest, Facebook, Instagram, and Tumblr.
