ML HOLTON

MLHolton has a 4 year Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Toronto and the University of Edinburgh, where she independently studied the history of the English language. Decades later, after running a signature Canadian fine furniture design studio in Toronto, she received a scholarship to understudy with two-time Giller Prize winner M.G.Vassanji, in the Graduate Creative Writing Program at the Humber School of Writing. Recently nominated for a Ontario Premier's Award for 'Excellence in the Arts', this eclectic polymath was selected as 'Artist of the Year' by the City of Burlington in 2016 for her 40 year contribution to the local arts and cultural scene in the Golden Horseshoe region of Ontario, Canada.

Author of two other novels 'Economic Sex' (1985) and the award-winning 'The Gilded Beaver' (1999), MLHolton also crafts short stories and poetry. After writing and directing 'The Frozen Goose' (25 min DVD, 2016), she produced a spoken-word & electro-pop album, 'CANADADA: Take Two', to mark Canada's sesquicentennial.
