Andrew Mortimer

Andrew Mortimer is a company director, specialist fund manager, and professional gold explorer with a lifelong passion for gold investing. Over the course of his career, he has led successful exploration teams across Australia, making significant gold discoveries in geologically complex regions. He currently serves as Chairman of several gold-focused mining companies.<br><br>Andrew’s exploration work has taken him across New South Wales, Queensland, and Western Australia, and he remains deeply involved in the sector through his role as Chairman of Keops Group, a Sydney-based corporate advisory and finance firm. Keops Group supports both private and public companies—locally and internationally—with IPO execution and strategic advisory, with a focus on mining and clean technology.<br><br>Originally trained as a lawyer, Andrew studied History and Law at the University of Sydney before qualifying as an officer of the Supreme Court of New South Wales in 2003. Today, he combines his legal, financial, and geological experience to advise companies on exploration strategy, project development, and capital markets.<br><br>Andrew has been a member of the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy for over two decades and is also a member of the Royal Society of New South Wales. He wrote this book to share the knowledge he has accumulated over many years working with gold—from its discovery and development to its enduring role in global markets.
