Efren A Delgado
Efren A. Delgado is a former FBI Special Agent turned threat assessment and protection consultant, speaker, and author in the private sector. With over 25 years of national security, law enforcement, and private protection experience, Efren continues to dedicate himself to protecting people against corrupt tyrants, violent criminals, or maligning bullies, directly through his work or indirectly through his writings and presentations.<br> <br>His 15-year tenure at the FBI included combating foreign counterintelligence, espionage, and counterterrorism matters—such as the PENTBOM investigation after terrorists crashed a plane into The Pentagon on 09/11/2001—for the National Security division, and fighting human trafficking, hate crimes, and color of law violations for the FBI’s civil rights Criminal Division, where his professionalism earned him the Anti-Defamation League's Sherwood Prize Award for combating hate crimes.<br> <br>Efren holds a bachelor of arts in psychology from the University of Texas at Austin and a master's degree in forensic psychology from Marymount University. His contributions to the field include an article in <em>The Journal of Counterterrorism and Homeland Security International</em>, "Sulayman AKA John Walker Lindh: Psychological Factors That May Have Led an American to an Islamic Terrorist Group," and a chapter in <em>The Psychology of Hate Crimes as Domestic Terrorism-U.S. and Global Issues,</em> titled "Hate Crime Principles and Motivations: A Vantage Point from within the FBI." Efren has also appeared on a CBS2/KCAL9 Crime Stoppers Case Files special, "Southern California Human Trafficking."<br> <br>In addition to his consulting work, Efren maintains a blog called The Roundup Rag. Outside of work, he cherishes time with his young family and—when possible— indulges in surfing, reclining, and travel.
