<p>Shelly Kitz writes in a small town in Northeast Kansas, where she spends most of the day writing and hanging out with family. Shelly loves to read any delightful story that has fantasy, action, and mystery. Growing up Shelly's favorite chapter book to read was Hank the Cowdog by John R. Erickson, which helped inspire this world.</p><p>Shelly really enjoyed all aspects of what farm life was like for a farm dog. This enjoyment later sparked Shelly's interest in what it would be like in a fantasy world where there is an overarching evil. Shelly also really likes long series that take the reader on a journey through different characters' lives. So that is something you can expect from Shelly's worlds.</p><p>Another thing to know about Shelly is that she loves her family. Her first book series, Bugztopia PD, was inspired by her young nephew. A boy who has been with her at every stage of the story. From producing plot lines and giving Shelly character names, her little mantis friend was there for it all.
