About the author
Gavin Davids
Gavin Davids is a South African author, certified life coach, and founder of TGD Life Coaching Pty Ltd, based in Bloemfontein, Free State. Born in Worcester in the heart of South Africa's wine country, Gavin built a career spanning over two decades across both the public and private sectors, gaining deep experience in leadership, operations, and management.
When a business partnership collapsed in 2014, Gavin made an uncommon choice — he stayed. Rather than walking away from the wreckage, he rebuilt, and in doing so discovered his true calling. Drawing on his professional experience, his faith, and the raw landscape of the Free State that taught him to see drought as redirection and fire as renewal, Gavin became a certified life coach dedicated to helping individuals and leaders navigate their own seasons of collapse and breakthrough.
He is an International Certified Life Coach and proud member of COMENSA, with specialized training in Transformational Coaching. Based in South Africa and coaching online, Gavin works with clients both locally and internationally, helping people across the world unlock their potential and rewrite their life story.
The Fire and the Well is Gavin's debut book — a raw, faith-filled account of personal transformation that introduces his signature framework: burning what is dead to make room for new growth, while drilling deep for the living water already within. It is a story born not from theory, but from the soil where he broke and rebuilt.
Gavin lives in Bloemfontein with his wife and three children
