About the author

Alina Burlacu

Alina P Burlacu writes about the parts of life we don't always talk openly about.

The kind of tired that comes from holding everything together.
The small, everyday decisions that quietly take us places we never meant to go.
That moment when something doesn't quite feel right anymore… but you're not sure what to do with it.

Her writing has been shaped by years of listening to women trying to make sense of change, relationships, confidence, money, and everything beneath those things. The conversations that don't always have neat endings. The ones that stay with you.

Alongside writing, Alina works in financial wellbeing and coaching. Not just in numbers and plans, but in the human side of money – how it's tied to identity, to power, to the choices we feel able (or unable) to make. She's seen how easily independence can slip in quiet, reasonable ways… and how hard it can be to name that, let alone change it.

She doesn't write to give answers.
She writes to make space for more honest questions.

Between Curtains: The Dance Worth Staying For is her first novel. It grew from those quieter observations – from noticing how often people keep going when something deeper has already started to shift, and how change doesn't usually arrive all at once. It begins in small moments. In choosing to look with curiosity. In choosing not to look away.

She lives in the UK, and continues to write, speak and work with people who are, in one way or another, finding their way back to themselves.
