<p>Growing up on an African farm, Antionette van der Gryp, like many of her characters, lived a life of guns, danger, and wilderness. She might have left the wild, but her adventurous nature stuck. After a stint at university where the structure of a proper education tried its best to civilize her, she started a family and settled into writing, not living the danger. She is currently living in the UK with her husband and two children.
