<p>David Burns is an indentured mechanical optical engineer from the aerospace and defence engineering sector, with over 30 years of metrology, standards, testing and quality management experience; having worked within Government institutions and the private sector within the UK and internationally. Employed by precision engineering companies and laboratories, personally developed and implementation management systems against a vast number Standards for wide ranging industry sectors - including the formulation of national Government policy for conformity assessment infrastructure in support of trade facilitation – adding value to business development and local economic prosperity; the author of this book is no theorist, but a true hands-on practitioner...with a proven track record of business process improvement.<br />

Always ahead of the “quality management” game and new Standards, the author is currently delivering training courses against the AS EN 9100: 2016 – Rev D (ISO 9001: 2015) on behalf of the UK’s foremost aerospace and defence institutions – namely the West of England Aerospace Forum (WEAF) and Midland Aerospace Alliance (MAA); delivering technical transition requirements, along with internal auditor training to its members - ensuring industry sector preparedness. In addition, advising UKAS Accredited Certification Bodies against AS EN 9100: 2016 (D).</p>
