Birmingham-born Ed Church studied languages at Edinburgh University before training as a journalist and writing for the Press Association’s International Sport desk. In 2005 he joined the Metropolitan Police, going on to serve ten years in London as both a uniformed officer and detective.<br><br>On leaving the police, Ed began writing during tea breaks while renovating an old cottage in Yorkshire.
