J. D. Winston was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana. His first novel is entitled Cotton Candy Angels – Finding Naballon. Before becoming an author, J. D. was an educator, eventually retiring from the profession in 2023. He specializes in writing for former, current, and future middle-schoolers, drawing inspiration from his many teaching experiences.

J. D.'s hobbies include reading, writing, and sailing. He also cherishes spending time with his family. For the last 25 years, he has resided in Kiln, Mississippi with his wife, three daughters, and their two granddogs.
