R M Hughes

Robert Meirion Hughes has been writing fiction since the 1980s. He is a former Plaid Cymru/Party of Wales County Cllr., who held public office in Conwy County, North Wales, for 17 years until his retirement in 2017. He has published fiction under the pen-name "Mike Bloom" but now writes in his own name.<br><br>Following a personal experience in the 1980s, he remains a firm believer that some UFOs are intelligently guided by extraterrestrial intelligence. This is reflected in some of his books, including his most recent, The Last Village.<br><br>He is currently revising some of his previous books and intends to republish in due course.<br><br>He is familiarly known to his friends and family as Meirion, an ancient Welsh name, the closest translation of which in English is "Steward". Although a Welsh (Cymraeg) speaker, he writes exclusively in English.<br><br>Meirion lives on the North Wales coast with his wife, Wendy. <br>
