James Dobie published his first thriller/mystery novel in 2022, although by then he had already written six more. He has now finished drafts of all eight standalone sequels in his Wallowa Lake Thrillers series, only half of which have been published. The Fret Master, is James' fourth Wallowa Lake Thriller, a standalone sequel to the first three, The Wailing, The Wood Sprite, and Angel of Oregon.

A native Texan, James lives in Austin, where he creates gripping new psychological/paranormal novels at a fast pace and enjoys playing his guitar when he isn't writing. He stays busy scheming ever more dire ways to hurl his characters, at unexpected moments, into shocking danger. Many of his heroes are spirited, defiantly different females caught up in situations rife with danger.
