Brian Paone

<p>Brian Paone, a Massachusetts native, has been writing fiction since 1988 and performing in bands since 1995.<em> </em>Brian has, thus far, published four novels: <em>Dreams Are Unfinished Thoughts</em><em>—</em>a memoir about being friends with a drug-addicted rock star; <em>Welcome to Parkview</em><em>—</em>a macabre cerebral-horror novel; <em>Yours Truly, 2095</em><em>—</em>a time-travel romance novel (which was suggested for a Hugo Award, though it did not make the finalists); and <em>Moonlight City Drive</em><em>—</em>a supernatural crime-noir detective novel (which is a trilogy, with Part 2 coming in 2019 and Part 3 coming in 2021).<br><br>Brian also has five short stories published within Scout Media’s <em>Of Words</em> anthology series: “Outside of Heaven”—a throwback to the <em></em>Creature Double Feature<em> </em>monster movies; “The Whaler’s Dues”—a modern-day mythological romance adventure fable; “Anesthetize (or A Dream Played in Reverse on Piano Keys)”—a disenchanted-youth ghost story; “Two Gunslingers”—a classic duel-at-high-noon western tale; and “Wayward Corona”—a social-media military speculative thriller.<br><br>Brian is also a metal and industrial-music vocalist and has released seven albums with his four bands: Yellow #1, Drop Kick Jesus, The Grave Machine, and Transpose.<br><br>Brian currently lives in Monterrey, CA with his wife—a US Naval Officer—and their four children. He is a retired police officer and worked in law enforcement for sixteen years from 2002 - 2018. He is a self-proclaimed roller-coaster junkie, a New England Patriots fanatic, and his favorite color is burnt orange. <br></p>
