M.E. Purfield started off writing the reader acclaimed, controversial young adult novels <em>jesus freaks + buddha punx</em> and <em>Party Girl Crashes the Rapture</em>. But then he wrote the noir fantasy novel <em>A Black Deeper Than Death</em>, which introduces teen Miki Radicci, an artist with the psychic ability to experience one’s pain and death. Some of his short stories appeared in Unwinnable Magazine, The Norwegian American, Broken Pencil, Literary Hatchet, Crooked Holster 3, and Akashic Books ‘Mondays are Murder’. M.E. Purfield lives in Jersey City, N.J. with his family.
